Cheer Loudly and Support Each Other: Women’s History Month Reflections

March marks Women’s History Month — a time to honor the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women throughout history. At Quartz, we take this opportunity not only to celebrate but also to reaffirm our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B) in health care and our communities. We draw inspiration from the remarkable women and allies who’ve paved the path we continue to build for DEI&B. By nurturing a deep connection with our communities, we aim to support gender diversity beyond our industry.

This month serves as a time to reflect on the achievements of trailblazing women who have paved the way for future generations, and our efforts to do so are largely driven by our DEI&B team and Women United ERG.

“We strive to cultivate a community where women and allies support women, both professionally and socially, in pursuit of a life well-lived. It’s meaningful, powerful work.” – Claire Keyes, Product Marketing Strategist and Quartz Women United co-chair.

“I’ve been so honored to be part of our Women United Employee Resource Group (ERG) from the beginning and can speak directly to how it has impacted my connections with my colleagues. Looking back on how my own engagement has benefited from having this group to learn and grow with, it’s a privilege and an honor to ensure others, all others, have the same opportunity.” – Beth Ferstl, Product Manager and Quartz Women United co-chair.

As the largest Employee Resource Group of our organization, Quartz Women United aims to keep us on track “to reach all women and allies at Quartz throughout the year, lifting each other up, pressing into currents of change, and challenging unconscious bias and societal norms” (Claire Keyes).

Beyond celebration, our ERG reminds us to stay committed to ongoing efforts to shape a more inclusive future. Acknowledging women’s contributions shouldn’t be confined to a single month but should be integrated into our everyday practices. Whether it’s through community volunteering or engaging in conversations that push us out of our comfort zone, each of us has the power to spark meaningful change. Beth Ferstl leaves us with this call to action: “Let’s continuously cheer loudly, support each other, show up, and look for opportunities to include and celebrate.”
